Cotton Knit Tank Top

Hey there! This tank top was purchased so I figured what better push to share how I made it? I am still new to writing patternesque things so please give feedback if you have any!


I used a yarn made of 100% cotton and a weight of 2 (fine). I used size five needles in the round (Amazon affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3xp9tL6).


Sizing used to base pattern:

  • shoulder to ribs: 14”

  • Around ribs: 32”


Cast on 220


Knit 2 purl 2 for two inches


K10, p16, k24, p16, k10, p144 for nine rows


On tenth row, cross half of the knit sections over toward the outside. So, I crossed five to the back, knit 5, knit the crossed, p16, cross 6 to the back, k 6, k the crossed, cross 6 to the front, k6, knit the crossed, p 16, cross 5 to the front, k5 knit the crossed.

Cross over middle cable and repeat last two steps until collar.


Back: p 102 2k2 tog at beginning of each row

P until collar.


Collar: k2, p2 for four inches or until you have the amount you want to fold over.
