The reason for the lack of attention to all of my social medias and this website is my 40+ hour per week job! I drive almost two hours to Denver and back everyday to work in a medical clinic for eight hours a day. Unfortunately, this means that I have to put my farm dreams on the back burner most of the time. Though, I did just receive some exciting news that will hopefully bring me closer to farming full time! Or.. at least working with farm animals full time and having my farm on the side..
I just accepted my offer to veterinary school! Yippee! It only took me three years of applying and telling myself that this was my last application. The goal is to make it through vet school and then work with livestock in one way or another (preferably performing embryo transfers and other reproductive procedures) and having my own fiber/milk/meat animals.
For now, while I am still working and once I begin my veterinary journey, I am doing as many farm like activities as I can! My husband and I are working on building up our garden for the year and little does he know, our backyard is going to be a forest of food with little chickens or ducks running through it. I am also finishing up my crafting room so that I can keep up with my fiber work when I get any free time. Not to mention, despite not having livestock, we do have a little farm of five dogs that we are constantly training so that they are good farm dogs someday soon!
Thank you for the read! - Sydney
